SEE ALSO...

Cdc4 Antibody (3D1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Cdc4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Cdc4 antibody (3D1) is available as the non-conjugated format. Cdc4 (3D1) monoclonal antibody recognizes a protein that plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle, particularly in the transition from G1 to S phase, which is essential for proper cell division and proliferation. Cdc4 functions as a component of the SCF (Skp1-Cullin-F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, facilitating the ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of specific target proteins, including the S-phase cyclin/Cdk inhibitor Sic1. This degradation enables the progression of the cell cycle by allowing activation of cyclin-dependent kinases necessary for the transition into S phase. Cdc4 also interacts with other proteins in the ubiquitin-protein ligase complex, such as Cdc53, which helps target phosphorylated G1 cyclins for degradation, ensuring tight cell cycle regulation. Cdc4′s role in mediating these processes highlights its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing uncontrolled cell growth, which can lead to cancer.

Can sc-293423: Cdc4 (3D1) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-293423: Cdc4 (3D1) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
