    SEE ALSO...

CD2 Antibody (AT37) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects CD2 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD2 is a crucial transmembrane glycoprotein primarily expressed on peripheral blood T lymphocytes, natural killer (NK) cells, and thymocytes, as well as on mouse B cells and rat splenic macrophages. CD2′s primary function is to mediate cell adhesion through interaction with the CD58 ligand, which enhances antigen-specific T cell activation. This interaction is vital for optimizing immune system recognition, as CD2 facilitates communication between helper T lymphocytes and antigen-presenting cells, as well as between cytolytic effectors and target cells. The importance of CD2 in immune responses underscores CD2′s potential as a therapeutic target in various immunological disorders. Anti-CD2 antibody (AT37) provides a reliable tool for researchers studying T cell activation and immune interactions, contributing to a deeper understanding of immune system dynamics.

Can CD2 (AT37): sc-13531 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

    Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CD2 (AT37): sc-13531 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
