Datasheets
  • α-Actin Antibody (SPM332) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a κ, cited in 17 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against an N-terminal decapeptide of α-Actin of human origin
  • recommended for detection of smooth muscle α-Actin of mouse, rat, human and bovine origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA; non cross-reactive with actin from fibroblasts (β-and γ-cytoplasmic), myocardium (α-myocardial), and striated muscle (α-sarcomeric)
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG2a BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for α-Actin Antibody (SPM332) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with α-Actin Antibody (SPM332) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

α-Actin Antibody (SPM332) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects smooth muscle α-Actin from mouse, rat, human, and bovine sources through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). α-Actin Antibody (SPM332) comes in a non-conjugated form for flexible research applications. Actin maintains cell shape, enables motility, and facilitates intracellular transport. α-Actin exists in a dynamic balance between monomeric globular actin (G-actin) and filamentous actin (F-actin), allowing quick assembly and disassembly in response to cellular signals. This adaptability is crucial for muscle contraction and cell division, where precise actin regulation ensures proper function. α-Actin is predominantly expressed in muscle cells, unlike β-Actin and γ-Actin found in non-muscle tissues. Small GTPases and other signaling pathways regulate α-Actin organization in the cytoskeleton, highlighting α-Actin′s significance in muscle function and cellular processes.

Are there any issues with using sc-56499: α-Actin (SPM332) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-56499 conjugates.
