Angiomotin is a member of the motin family, known for their ability to bind angiostatin, and it features distinct conserved coiled-coil regions and C-terminal motifs that interact with PDZ domains. It is mainly found in the endothelial cells of both capillaries and larger blood vessels in the placenta. Within this context, Angiomotin is thought to facilitate angiostatin's role in inhibiting the processes of tube formation and endothelial cell migration in response to growth factors, critical steps in new blood vessel development.
