    SEE ALSO...

TAG-72 Antibody (6A191) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects tumor-associated glycoprotein 72 (TAG-72) with broad species reactivity through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). TAG-72 is a high molecular weight glycoprotein primarily localized to the cytoplasm and cell membrane of malignant cells, playing a crucial role in tumor biology as a marker for various cancers. TAG-72 expression is notably high in approximately 80% of colorectal carcinomas, while being rarely found in normal epithelial tissues, which underscores TAG-72′s potential as a diagnostic and therapeutic target. TAG-72 is also significantly expressed in low-grade mucoepidermoid carcinomas, yet absent in pure squamous cell mucoepidermoid carcinomas, highlighting TAG-72′s specificity in cancer detection. Furthermore, TAG-72 is associated with several gynecologic malignancies, including common epithelial ovarian and endometrial carcinomas, and TAG-72 expression in human prostatic adenocarcinomas has been shown to negatively correlate with the Gleason grade of differentiation, indicating TAG-72′s relevance in tumor aggressiveness. Additionally, TAG-72 is expressed in the majority of gastric, esophageal, pancreatic, and non-small cell lung carcinomas, making TAG-72 a valuable biomarker for a wide range of malignancies. Anti-TAG-72 antibody (6A191) is particularly useful for purifying primary ovarian cancer cells from patient ascites, facilitating further research and potential therapeutic interventions.
