    SEE ALSO...

Snurportin-1 Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Snurportin-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Snurportin-1 antibody (F-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Snurportin-1, also known as SNUPN, KPNBL, or RNUT1 (RNA U transporter 1), is a crucial nuclear import adaptor protein that plays a significant role in transporting U small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (U snRNPs) into the nucleus, essential for spliceosome maturation. Snurportin-1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and nucleus, containing an N-terminal importin β-binding (IBB) domain and a trimethylguanosine (m3G)-cap binding domain. This unique structure allows Snurportin-1 to specifically bind to the terminal 2,2,7-m3G-cap at the 5′ end of U snRNPs, facilitating nuclear import through interaction with Importin β. Formation of the complex between Snurportin-1, U snRNPs, and Importin β is vital for effective nuclear import. After import, Snurportin-1 may localize to Cajal bodies, depending on the specific U snRNP involved, such as U1 or U2. In the nucleus, Snurportin-1 interacts with CRM1, responsible for recycling Snurportin-1 back to the cytoplasm, enabling further rounds of U snRNP import. This dynamic process underscores Snurportin-1′s importance in RNA processing and gene expression regulation.
