Rab 3/16 Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Rab 3/16 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Rab 3/16 antibody (G-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rab 3/16 protein is a member of the Ras-related superfamily of guanine nucleotide-binding proteins, which play a crucial role in intracellular membrane trafficking. Specifically, Rab proteins are essential for the transport of newly synthesized proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus and ultimately to secretory vesicles. This transport process is vital for maintaining cellular function and homeostasis, as proteins reach their correct destinations within the cell. Rab proteins facilitate the movement of carrier vesicles through both endocytosis and exocytosis, and may direct the fusion of secretory vesicles with the plasma membrane. At least eight distinct members of the Rab family have been identified, each associated with specific stages of membrane transport pathways, highlighting their complexity and importance in cellular logistics.
