PEA-15 Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PEA-15 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PEA-15 (H-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PEA-15 protein, also known as Phosphoprotein Enriched in Astrocytes, plays a crucial role in regulating apoptotic signaling pathways due to a unique structure, which includes a death effector domain (DED) within its first 80 amino acids. This DED is essential for PEA-15′s ability to inhibit Ras suppression, thereby influencing cell survival and apoptosis. PEA-15 exists in three forms: a non-phosphorylated form and two phosphorylated forms, which are regulated by protein kinase C (PKC). The phosphorylation status of PEA-15 changes in response to microtubule dynamics, indicating colocalization with these structures. While predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, PEA-15 is also found in lower levels in the liver and kidney, and at higher levels in muscle tissue. PEA-15 is also referred to as Phosphoprotein Enriched in Diabetes (PED) due to increased expression in individuals with type 2 diabetes, highlighting a potential role in metabolic regulation and disease.

Are there any issues with using sc-166678: PEA-15 (H-3) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-166678 conjugates.
