Datasheets
  • µ-protocadherin Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 126-350 mapping within an extracellular domain of µ-protocadherin of human origin
  • recommended for detection of µ-protocadherin of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG1 BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for µ-protocadherin Antibody (G-1) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with µ-protocadherin Antibody (G-1) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

µ-protocadherin Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects µ-protocadherin in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). µ-protocadherin is a developmentally regulated, single-pass type I transmembrane protein that belongs to the cadherin superfamily, characterized by four cadherin-like ectodomains, a triply repeating mucin domain, and multiple SH3 binding regions. µ-protocadherin is predominantly expressed in various epithelial tissues, where µ-protocadherin localizes to the apical surface along the brush border of the proximal convoluted tubule, playing a crucial role as a calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecule that mediates cell aggregation. µ-protocadherin′s location at the brush border is essential for maintaining epithelial barrier integrity and facilitating intercellular communication. Additionally, N- and O-glycosylation sites, along with a potential C-terminal PDZ binding domain, suggest µ-protocadherin may undergo post-translational modifications that influence function and interactions with other proteins. Alternative splicing results in at least four isoforms of µ-protocadherin, with only the longest isoform containing the triply repeating mucin domain, highlighting the complexity and regulatory mechanisms governing expression and function.
