IL-11 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects interleukin-11 (IL-11) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IL-11 is a pleiotropic cytokine that plays a crucial role in hematopoiesis and immune regulation, particularly in the proliferation of primitive hematopoietic progenitor cells. IL-11 (F-3) antibody recognizes a cytokine secreted by stromal cells that′s essential for expanding CD34+ cell populations, which are vital for developing various blood cell lineages. The human IL-11 gene encodes a 199 amino acid precursor that includes a 21 amino acid hydrophobic signal peptide, which is cleaved to produce a biologically active, glycosylated form of IL-11. The functional significance of IL-11 is underscored by interaction with interleukin-11 receptor (IL-11R), which consists of an IL-11 receptor-specific chain, IL-11Rα, and signal transducing component gp130. Upon binding to IL-11R, IL-11 activates Janus tyrosine kinases JAK1 and JAK2, leading to nuclear translocation of transcription factors Stat1 and Stat3, which are critical for mediating downstream effects of IL-11 in various physiological and pathological processes. Anti-IL-11 antibody (F-3) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying IL-11′s role in hematopoiesis and implications in diseases such as fibrosis and inflammation.
