hCAP-D3 Antibody (2B5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects hCAP-D3 protein of human origin and Ncapd3 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). anti-hCAP-D3 antibody (2B5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. hCAP-D3, also known as non-SMC condensin II complex subunit D3, plays a crucial role in organizing and segregating chromosomes during cell division, specifically in resolving and segregating sister chromatids during mitosis. This function maintains genomic stability, as errors in chromosome segregation can lead to aneuploidy and contribute to cancer development. hCAP-D3 is a 1498 amino acid nuclear protein containing four HEAT repeats and serves as a key component of the condensin-2 complex, essential for proper mitotic chromosome assembly. The condensin complex comprises heteropentamers that include two structural maintenance of chromosomes (SMC) subunits and three non-SMC subunits, with hCAP-D3 interacting with other SMC proteins such as SMC1 and SMC3. Understanding hCAP-D3′s role in chromosome dynamics reveals fundamental cellular processes and highlights potential therapeutic interventions in diseases characterized by chromosomal instability.
