    SEE ALSO...

HAPLN4 Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HAPLN4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HAPLN4 antibody (H-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HAPLN4, or Hyaluronan and proteoglycan link protein 4, is a 360 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene HAPLN4 and is a member of the HAPLN family, characterized by one immunoglobulin-like C2-type domain and two Link domains. HAPLN4 plays a crucial role in mediating the binding of hyaluronic acid complexes, particularly facilitating the strong interaction between versican V2 and hyaluronic acid. HAPLN4 serves a pivotal function in the formation of the hyaluronan-associated matrix within the central nervous system (CNS), which is essential for neuronal conduction and structural stabilization. HAPLN4 contributes to the formation of extracellular matrices that are vital for the development of perineuronal nets, thereby enhancing our understanding of the functional roles these matrices play in neural environments. HAPLN4 is widely expressed, with the highest levels found in the spleen and placenta, underscoring its significance in various biological processes.

I would like to use antibodies against HAPLN3 and HAPLN4 in mouse and human tissue for immunofluorescence. What do you suggest for using mouse antibodies in mouse tissue to avoid intense background?

    Asked by: Eduardo Araujo
Thank you for your inquiry. To avoid background issues with mouse-on-mouse staining we recommend using conjugated primary antibodies, these would be available by Special Order (specialorders@scbt.com). Another option would be to use our Mouse IgG Binding Protein products in place of conventional secondaries to reduce non-specific binding (https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-130b1ry). Otherwise there are commercial Mouse-On-Mouse (MOM) staining kits that are designed to reduce non-specific staining. Please contact Technical Service by phone, (800)-457-3801 option 2, email <scbt@scbt.com>, or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com if you have any further questions.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271450 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
