Gβ 5 Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Gβ 5 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Gβ 5 is a member of the heterotrimeric G protein family, which plays a crucial role in transmitting signals from cell surface receptors to intracellular effectors, thereby influencing various physiological processes. Notably, Gβ 5 is distinct from other β subunits due to its unique structure, exhibiting only 50% homology with Gβ 1-4, which share at least 83% homology among themselves. This structural divergence is significant as Gβ 5 interacts with specific signaling pathways and regulatory proteins, particularly in the central nervous system, where Gβ 5 is highly expressed. The localization of Gβ 5 in the brain, pancreas, kidney, and heart underscores Gβ 5′s importance in modulating diverse signaling mechanisms, including those involved in neurotransmission and metabolic regulation.
