EP58 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EP58 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EP58 (C-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EP58, a novel ligand ER protein, is primarily expressed in the embryo, placenta, and adult heart, and exhibits unique structural characteristics that distinguish EP58 from other known endoplasmic reticulum-resident proteins. Notably, EP58 shares sequence similarity with bacterial and fungal proteins, suggesting a potential role in polysaccharide biosynthesis, which is crucial for various cellular processes, including cell wall formation and signaling. Understanding EP58 structure and interactions may provide insights into EP58 function in these biosynthetic pathways, highlighting EP58 importance in both developmental biology and potential therapeutic applications. The retention of soluble proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum is facilitated by the KDEL sequence, which interacts with the KDEL receptor in the Golgi apparatus, ensuring proper protein localization and function.
