DDX33 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects DDX33 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DDX33, also known as DHX33, is a 707 amino acid nucleolar protein that plays a crucial role in RNA metabolism, particularly in the assembly of ribonucleoprotein complexes essential for ribosome and spliceosome function. DDX33 is characterized by helicase ATP-binding domain and helicase C-terminal domain, which are vital for unwinding RNA structures, thereby facilitating proper processing and translation of RNA. DDX33′s importance extends to involvement in various cellular processes, including embryogenesis and cellular growth, making DDX33 a significant player in developmental biology and disease states. DDX33 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 17, which harbors over 1,200 genes and is implicated in numerous genetic disorders. Two isoforms of DDX33 arise from alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms within the cell.
