    SEE ALSO...

CLIP-170 Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects CLIP-170 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLIP-170 is a crucial member of the plus-end-binding proteins (+TIPs) family, playing a significant role in microtubule dynamics by binding to growing plus ends of microtubules and linking them to organelle membranes. This interaction maintains cellular structure and function, as CLIP-170 acts as an anticatastrophic factor, promoting microtubule rescue, particularly near the cell periphery, which is essential for processes such as cell division and intracellular transport. CLIP-170′s unique ability to form comet-like structures at microtubule ends allows for real-time visualization of microtubule dynamics, providing insights into cellular behavior. Additionally, CLIP-170 co-localizes with key proteins such as Dynactin and Dynein at microtubule ends and the kinetochore, highlighting CLIP-170′s importance in the orchestration of cellular transport and mitotic processes. Notably, the splice variant of CLIP-170, known as Restin, is highly expressed in Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg cells, monocyte-derived dendritic cells, IL-4 + CD40L activated B cells, and Ki-1 lymphoma, further underscoring CLIP-170′s relevance in both normal physiology and disease states.
