Apollon Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Apollon protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Apollon antibody (F-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Apollon, also known as BRUCE or baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein 6 (BIRC6), is a critical member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family, characterized by BIR domains, which play a vital role in inhibiting apoptosis. This large protein is primarily located in the cytoplasm and can associate with the membrane of the Golgi apparatus, suggesting a role in cellular signaling and apoptosis regulation. Apollon binds to and ubiquitinates Smac and caspase-9, facilitating their proteasomal degradation, thereby preventing apoptosis and promoting cell survival. This function is particularly important in brain cancer, where Apollon expression has been linked to tumorigenesis and drug resistance in certain cancer cell lines, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target.
