ANKTM1 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ANKTM1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ANKTM1 (C-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ANKTM1, also known as Transient Receptor Potential Cation Channel Subfamily A Member 1, plays a crucial role in sensory transduction, particularly in nociceptors and hair cells. ANKTM1 is primarily located in the plasma membrane of sensory neurons and hair cells, where ANKTM1 functions as a cation channel activated by noxious stimuli, such as extreme cold and certain pungent compounds. This localization is vital for ANKTM1′s role in detecting environmental changes and initiating appropriate physiological responses, such as pain sensation and mechanotransduction in auditory cells. ANKTM1′s ability to mediate calcium influx in response to these stimuli is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling pathways that influence pain perception and sensory processing. Furthermore, targeting ANKTM1 may offer therapeutic avenues for conditions associated with cold hyperalgesia and other sensory disorders, making ANKTM1 a significant focus for research and potential drug development.

Is it possible to obtain the the peptide used to generate this antibody?

Asked by: MRD1
Thank you for your question. This mouse monoclonal antibody is not raised against a peptide, but rather a recombinant protein antigen. The antibody is raised against amino acids 965-1119 mapping at the C-terminus of ANKTM1 of human origin (accession number O75762). This recombinant protein antigen is not available for purchase.
