SEE ALSO...

Ah Receptor Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Ah Receptor in mouse and rat samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Ah Receptor (A-2) antibody plays a crucial role in studying this ligand-dependent transcription factor that mediates biological responses to toxic compounds like 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD). Upon binding with TCDD, Ah Receptor forms a complex with Ah Receptor nuclear translocator (Arnt), which is essential for translocation from cytoplasm to nucleus. This translocation allows the receptor complex to bind to specific DNA sequences known as xenobiotic responsive elements (XREs), thereby regulating the expression of genes involved in detoxification and metabolic processes. Proper functioning of Ah Receptor is vital for cellular responses to environmental toxins, and dysregulation of this pathway can lead to adverse reproductive, immunologic, and metabolic effects. Anti-Ah Receptor antibody (A-2) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of action of environmental toxins and their impact on cellular function.

Hi, I wanted to know if it is essential to perform Heart Induced Epitope Retrieval (HIER) when working with this antibody (sc-398877) for Immunoperoxidase staining. Thanks.

Asked by: Mashnia
Thank you for your question. Yes, we recommend antigen retrieval . Please see section C of our protocol for recommendations. https://www.scbt.com/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398877 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great antibody for WB and IHCThis antibody could detect AhR in several organs including the brain, liver and lung of wild-type C57BL/6J mice, but not AhR-null mice, in WB. This antibody also worked to identify AhR in brain neurons of wild-type mice, but not null mice, which indicates the specificity in IHC.
