Thy-1 Antibody (NIMR-1) is a rat monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Thy-1 in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Thy-1, also known as CDw90, is a phosphatidyl-anchored cell surface glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling, particularly in hematopoietic stem cells. Thy-1 expression is vital for identifying specific subpopulations of cells within mixed colonies, especially when coexpressed with CD34, as Thy-1 marks a subset of putative hematopoietic, pleuripotent stem cells in normal human bone marrow. Thy-1+ cells have been linked to significant immunological processes, including regulation of autoreactivity following bone marrow transplants and development of syngeneic graft versus host disease.
