SRp20 Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects SRp20 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SRp20 is a crucial member of the serine/arginine-rich (SR) protein family, which plays a significant role in pre-mRNA splicing by binding to splicing enhancer elements and facilitating the recognition of weak splice sites. SRp20 is predominantly located in the nucleus, where SRp20 is essential for the regulation of alternative splicing, a process that allows a single gene to produce multiple protein isoforms, thereby increasing the diversity of the proteome. Nuclear localization of SRp20 enables interaction with other splicing factors and RNA, ensuring accurate splicing and mRNA maturation. SRp20 shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm, contributing to mRNA transport, which is critical for gene expression regulation. Post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation, can influence SRp20 activity and interactions with other proteins, further emphasizing SRp20′s importance in the splicing machinery. With SRp20′s ability to modulate splicing events and involvement in mRNA transport, anti-SRp20 antibody (C-1) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying splicing mechanisms and related cellular processes.
