SASH1 Antibody (X1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the SASH1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SASH1 antibody (X1) is available as the non-conjugated format. SASH1, also known as SAM and SH3 domain-containing protein 1 or PEPE1 (Proline-glutamate repeat-containing protein), is a 1247 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and is significantly downregulated in various cancers, including breast, lung, and thyroid tumors, as well as certain colon carcinomas. SASH1 downregulation has been linked to the formation of distant metastasis, making SASH1 a negative prognostic marker for patient survival. SASH1 expression suppression occurs not through mutations in the SASH1 gene itself, but rather through epigenetic mechanisms such as promoter methylation. As a member of the SH3-domain containing expressed in lymphocytes (SLY1) gene family, SASH1 features two sterile alpha modules (SAMs) and one Src homology-3 (SH3) domain, which are critical for SASH1 function as an adaptor and scaffold protein in signaling pathways. SASH1′s ability to interact with specific proteins involved in cellular processes underscores SASH1′s importance in maintaining normal cellular functions and highlights SASH1′s potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment.
