QUICK LINKS

Ruthenium red blocks cell membrane-located capsaicin-activated cation channels (IC50 = 14 nM) and voltage-sensitive Ca2+ channels to inhibit neurotransmitter release. Additionally, Ruthenium red blocks Ca2+ uptake and release from mitochondria, and Ca2+ release from ryanodine-sensitive intracellular stores. Ruthenium red is an inhibitor of Calcium Channel Protein, SERCA and TRPV. Ruthenium red is an inhibitor of CaM and Troponin C.
