Es wird (R)-1-[(SP)-2-(Diphenylphosphino)ferrocenyl]ethyldi-tert-butylphosphin als Katalysator in der Synthese von Sitagliptin verwendet. Es ist ein chiraler ferrocenyl Diphosphin-Ligand.
