PSGL-1 Antibody (KPL1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PSGL-1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). PSGL-1 Antibody (KPL1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PSGL-1, also known as P-Selectin glycoprotein ligand or CD162, is a type 1 membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the immune response by mediating the adhesion of leukocytes to the endothelium during inflammation. PSGL-1 is primarily located on the tips of microvilli of leukocytes, where the extracellular domain, rich in serines, threonines, and prolines, facilitates interactions with selectins. PSGL-1 exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer and must undergo specific post-translational modifications, including sialylation and fucosylation, to effectively bind to P-Selectin and E-Selectin. These modifications are essential for proper functioning in leukocyte trafficking and immune response regulation, highlighting PSGL-1′s importance in maintaining vascular integrity and mediating inflammatory processes. PSGL-1 interacts with other proteins in the sialomucin family, such as leukosialin (CD43), CD164, and CD34, which further underscores PSGL-1′s role in cell adhesion and signaling within the hematopoietic system.
