PiT2 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PiT2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PiT2 (B-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PiT2, a member of the SLC20 family of sodium-dependent phosphate transporters, plays a crucial role in cellular phosphate homeostasis by functioning as a sodium-phosphate cotransporter. PiT2 expression is particularly high in bone, kidney, and intestine, where PiT2 is localized on the polarized epithelial cell membranes, facilitating phosphate uptake necessary for various biological processes, including bone mineralization and energy metabolism. Additionally, PiT2 serves as a receptor for the amphotropic murine leukemia virus (A-MuLV), which is significant in gene transfer technology, as PiT2 allows for the infection of a wide range of mammalian cell lines, including human cells. This characteristic makes PiT2 a valuable target in the development of retroviral vector systems for gene therapy, particularly for conditions that require precise cellular targeting and delivery of therapeutic genes.

I am using PiT2 (B-4): sc-377326 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
