    SEE ALSO...

Mitochondrial ferritin Antibody (6G3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects mitochondrial ferritin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-mitochondrial ferritin antibody (6G3) is available as a non-conjugated format. Mitochondrial ferritin plays a crucial role in iron metabolism within mitochondria, where mitochondrial ferritin sequesters excess iron to prevent oxidative damage, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis. This function is particularly important as dysregulation of iron levels can lead to various pathologies, including neurodegenerative diseases and cancer. Mitochondrial ferritin is primarily located in mitochondria, which are energy-producing organelles of the cell, and proper functioning of mitochondrial ferritin is essential for mitochondrial health and overall cellular function. Additionally, mitochondrial ferritin has been implicated in regulating iron availability for heme synthesis, further underscoring its significance in cellular metabolism. Understanding mitochondrial ferritin and its interactions with other proteins involved in iron metabolism can provide insights into therapeutic strategies for diseases associated with iron dysregulation.
