QUICK LINKS

Melengestrol acetate (MGA) is the acetate sale of this antineoplastic steroidal progestin. It has been used extensively in scientific research as a model compound for the study of progesterone receptors and steroid hormone action. Specifically, it is employed to investigate the effects of progesterone on the reproductive and immune systems, bone metabolism, and inflammation. Melengestrol acetate stimulates the production of growth hormone, luteinizing hormone, testosteron,e and estradiol. It also increases the activity of enzymes involved in fatty acid metabolism and glucose metabolism. In addition, Melengestrol acetate reduces inflammation and has anti-tumor effects.
