    SEE ALSO...

Glyoxalase I Antibody (GloIa) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Glyoxalase I in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Glyoxalase I plays a crucial role in the detoxification of glucose degradation products, specifically through the glyoxalase pathway, which is vital for cellular health and metabolic balance. This enzyme helps mitigate the harmful effects of reactive carbonyl species, which can lead to cellular stress and contribute to various diseases, including diabetes and neurodegenerative disorders. Glyoxalase I exists in three isoforms, generated from two alleles, forming two homodimers and one heterodimer, with each subunit binding a zinc ion, which is essential for enzymatic activity. GLO1 gene expression has been shown to be induced in colon carcinoma, highlighting a potential role in cancer biology. Additionally, the presence of an insulin response element and a zinc metal response element in the promoter region of the GLO1 gene suggests regulation is intricately linked to metabolic states and cellular responses to stress, making Glyoxalase I a significant target for research in both metabolic and cancer-related studies. Anti-Glyoxalase I antibody (GloIa) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers exploring the functional dynamics of this important protein in various biological contexts.

How can Glyoxalase I (GloIa): sc-101877 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

    Asked by: Germaine
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-101877 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-101877 FITC).
