Gα 12 Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Gα12 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Gα12 antibody (E-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Gα12 plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways by acting as a molecular switch that relays signals from activated G protein-coupled receptors to downstream effectors, thereby influencing various physiological processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and migration. Notably, Gα12 interacts with specific proteins, including Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factors, which are essential for the activation of the Rho family of small GTPases. This interaction is vital for cytoskeletal reorganization and the regulation of cell shape and motility, making Gα12 a significant player in processes such as wound healing and cancer metastasis. With broad tissue distribution and involvement in critical signaling pathways, Gα12 monoclonal antibody (E-12) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying G protein signaling and its implications in health and disease.

Hello I was wondering whether the sc-515445 G12 antibody has been tested for immunohistochemistry (IHC)? I see that this technique is not in the recommended applications list. Thanks Vernita

Asked by: Vernita
Thank you for your question. This antibody has not been tested for IHC on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections, so it is not warrantied for that use. It may work, but we have not tested it in house yest so we can not warranty it. However, we do warranty it for IF on cells and IHC on fresh frozen tissue section fixed in methanol or acetone. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for Western BlotAntibody works for Western blot with 293T cell lysate; expression knocked out with Gα 12 siRNA in published research. -SCBT QC

Rated 1 out of 5 by from High WB background & poor customer serviceWe've tested this in western blot, using HepG2, RAW 264.7 (which should express Ga12), and THP-1 cell lines at 1:500, and in KG-1 and HL-60 at 1:200. In both cases we had very high background and are not confident even in the RAW line that we have a positive band. We contacted Santa Cruz twice to discuss troubleshooting options and have not received any replies.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from High background bands. We tested this antibody in endothelial cells. The isoforms were detectable, however, there was a very high level of background bands.
