Fibronectin Antibody (EP5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Fibronectin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Fibronectin antibody (EP5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Fibronectin is a crucial extracellular matrix glycoprotein that plays a significant role in cell adhesion, motility, and wound healing, making Fibronectin essential for tissue repair and regeneration. This high molecular weight heterodimeric protein is found on most cell surfaces, in extracellular fluids, and in plasma, and Fibronectin′s presence is vital for maintaining structural integrity of tissues. Fibronectin′s structure is characterized by multiple domains that facilitate interactions with various cell surface receptors and other extracellular matrix components, which is important for cellular signaling and tissue organization. Alternative splicing and glycosylation of Fibronectin lead to different isoforms, some of which are associated with specific tissues or pathological conditions, such as malignancies. In Dupuytren′s disease, formation of myofibroblast phenotype has been linked to presence of glycosylated Fibronectin and splice variants, highlighting Fibronectin′s role in both normal physiology and disease processes.
