E2F-1 is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody designed to detect E2F-1 protein, also known as RBAP-1 or RBBP-3, across human, mouse, and rat species. Anti-E2F-1 antibody (E-2) targets a specific epitope within amino acids 301-437 of human E2F-1, making anti-E2F-1 antibody (E-2) suitable for applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). E2F-1 is a pivotal transcription factor that plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle, particularly the transition from G1 phase to S phase, by controlling the expression of genes necessary for DNA replication and cell proliferation. Within the cell, E2F-1 primarily resides in the nucleus, where E2F-1 interacts with retinoblastoma protein (Rb) to modulate activity. This interaction inhibits E2F-1′s transcriptional function, thereby preventing uncontrolled cell division.
