    SEE ALSO...

DABP Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects DABP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DABP (H-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DABP, also known as D-boxBP, D site-binding protein, and Albumin D-element-binding protein, is a 325 amino acid member of the bZIP family (PAR subfamily) that contains a single bZIP domain. DABP functions as a transcriptional activator, specifically recognizing and binding to the promoter sequence 5′-RTTAYGTAAY-3′ in the promoter regions of key genes such as albumin, CYP2A4, and CYP2A5. While DABP is not essential for generating circadian rhythms, DABP significantly influences the modulation of important clock output genes, potentially serving as a direct target for regulation by the circadian pacemaker component Clock. Notably, mice lacking bZip PAR gene products, including DABP, EPAS-1, and TEF, exhibit heightened susceptibility to generalized spontaneous and audiogenic epilepsies, likely due to the role of bZip PAR in targeting the gene encoding pyridoxal kinase. This enzyme is vital for converting vitamin B6 derivatives into pyridoxal phosphate, a crucial coenzyme involved in amino acid and neurotransmitter metabolism, underscoring DABP′s importance in both transcriptional regulation and metabolic processes.
