Alix Antibody (3A9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Alix in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Alix (3A9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The ALG-2-interacting protein, commonly known as Alix, plays a crucial role in cellular processes by facilitating the sorting and concentration of cargo proteins within multivesicular bodies, which are essential for the formation of vesicles that transport proteins to their appropriate destinations. This sorting mechanism is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating apoptosis, as Alix interacts with key proteins involved in these processes, including ALG-2 and programmed cell death 6. Furthermore, Alix′s interactions with endosomal sorting complexes required for transport (ESCRT) proteins, such as Tsg101 and CHMP4, highlight Alix′s importance in the endocytic pathway and viral budding, particularly in the context of HIV-1. Anti-Alix antibody (3A9) enables researchers to gain insights into the dynamic roles of Alix in cellular trafficking and implications in various diseases, including cancer and viral infections.
