Ein strukturelles Analogon der zweiten Generation von Prostacyclin (PGI2) mit etwa zehnfach höherer Wirksamkeit als die stabilen Analoga der ersten Generation, für die Carbaprostacyclin typisch ist.1 Diese Verbindung bindet mit gleicher Affinität an die rekombinanten menschlichen EP1- und IP-Rezeptoren mit einem Ki-Wert von 11 nM.2 Die meisten Iloprost-Zubereitungen enthalten 16(S)- und 16(R)-Stereoisomere. 16(S)-Iloprost hemmt die Thrombozytenaggregation wirksam mit einem IC50-Wert von 3,5 nM.3
