Chemical activators of Vmn2r75 include a variety of compounds that engage with different cellular receptors, ultimately leading to the protein's activation through a cascade of intracellular signaling events. Isoproterenol, Epinephrine, and Norepinephrine are catecholamines that bind to beta-adrenergic receptors, which classically couple to Gs proteins and result in the activation of adenylate cyclase. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of ATP to cyclic AMP (cAMP), a secondary messenger that activates protein kinase A (PKA). PKA can then phosphorylate target proteins, including Vmn2r75, leading to its functional activation. Similarly, Dopamine binds to its specific receptors and can also trigger a signaling pathway resulting in the activation of PKA, which would then phosphorylate and activate Vmn2r75. Moreover, adenosine, via A2A receptors, increases cAMP levels and activates PKA, which in turn can act on Vmn2r75.
Furthermore, Forskolin is a diterpene that directly stimulates adenylate cyclase independent of receptor engagement, bypassing the receptor-ligand interaction and leading to increased cAMP and subsequent PKA activation, which can activate Vmn2r75. Histamine and Serotonin operate through their respective receptors, H1 and 5-HT, which can activate phospholipase C and lead to a cascade that involves PKA activation. This activation of PKA is another route through which Vmn2r75 can be activated. Acetylcholine through muscarinic receptors and Arginine Vasopressin through V1a receptors both can initiate pathways involving the activation of PKA, leading to phosphorylation and activation of Vmn2r75. Angiotensin II interacts with AT1 receptors, which can also lead to PKA-mediated activation of Vmn2r75. Lastly, Oxytocin interacts with its receptors to initiate a signaling pathway that involves PKA activation, which may result in the phosphorylation and functional activation of Vmn2r75, completing the spectrum of mechanisms through which these chemicals activate the protein.
