SBP-2L activators are a class of chemical compounds that interact with the sterol regulatory element-binding protein (SREBP) cleavage-activating protein (SCAP), which is involved in the regulation of lipid homeostasis. Sterol regulatory element-binding proteins are transcription factors that are crucial for the regulation of genes involved in the synthesis and uptake of cholesterol, fatty acids, triglycerides, and phospholipids.
