PKC λ/Δ Activators

PKC λ/ι activators, in this context, refer to a range of compounds that indirectly influence the activity of Protein Kinase C lambda/iota. PKC λ/ι is part of the atypical protein kinase C subfamily, which does not respond directly to the conventional activators of PKC, such as diacylglycerol and calcium. Instead, their activation is modulated through protein-protein interactions and lipid mediators. Compounds like Bryostatin 1, Phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA), and Prostratin are known for their roles in modulating PKC activities. These compounds, although not specific to atypical PKCs, can influence the PKC λ/ι indirectly through their broad effects on the PKC family.
