Pim-3 Activators

Pim-3 activators encompass a range of compounds that might indirectly promote the expression or stabilization of Pim-3 by modulating signaling pathways that affect its transcription or translation. Compounds that activate cAMP signaling, such as forskolin and PGE2, can lead to the activation of transcription factors like CREB, which may enhance Pim-3 transcription. Similarly, factors that influence the PI3K/AKT pathway, such as IGF-1, can result in increased translation or decreased degradation of Pim-3.

Furthermore, cytokines and growth factors that activate various cell surface receptors can trigger intracellular signaling cascades leading to the upregulation of Pim-3. Additionally, inhibitors of kinases involved in cell cycle regulation or stress response, like (R)-roscovitine, PD98059, and SB203580, might lead to compensatory mechanisms that upregulate Pim-3 expression. In hypoxic conditions, rapamycin's effect on mTOR and subsequent influence on HIF-1α could also contribute to increased Pim-3 levels.
