UBE2N Antibody (4E11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects UBE2N protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-UBE2N antibody (4E11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UBE2N, a crucial member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family, plays a vital role in the ubiquitination process, which is essential for targeting proteins for proteasomal degradation. This process is particularly important for maintaining cellular homeostasis, as UBE2N regulates the levels of abnormal or short-lived proteins. UBE2N facilitates the attachment of ubiquitin, a small protein consisting of 76 amino acids, to lysine residues on target proteins, leading to the formation of polyubiquitin chains that signal for degradation by the proteasome. The efficient degradation of these proteins is critical for various cellular functions, including the regulation of gene expression, cell differentiation, and the DNA repair pathway, thereby enhancing cell survival following DNA damage. UBE2N is notably expressed in heart and skeletal muscles, where UBE2N activity is linked to muscle function and overall cellular health.
