Thrombospondin 1/2 Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody, designed to target amino acids 401-700 of human Thrombospondin 1 and Thrombospondin 2, also known as TSP-1/THBS1 and TSP-2/THBS2 respectively. Thrombospondin proteins are integral extracellular matrix glycoproteins characterized by their multi-domain structure, including N-terminal assembly domains, type 1 and type 2 repeats, and C-terminal globular regions. This intricate structure enables TSP-1 and TSP-2 to form both homo- and heteromultimers, which are essential for their roles in cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix signaling. The structural configuration of these proteins is crucial for their functions in processes such as angiogenesis, wound healing, and tissue remodeling, as it facilitates interactions with various cell surface receptors and other extracellular matrix components.
