TCR α/β Antibody (3H2918) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects T cell antigen receptor (TCR) in mouse and rat samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). TCR is a crucial component of the adaptive immune system, functioning primarily to recognize foreign antigens and initiate a cascade of intracellular signals that lead to T cell activation. This activation enables T cells to proliferate and differentiate into effector cells that can eliminate infected or malignant cells. TCR is a heterodimer, typically composed of either alpha and beta chains or gamma and delta chains, with the alpha/beta form being predominant in the majority of circulating T cells. The presence of CD3 chains and co-receptors such as CD4 or CD8 is essential for effective signal transduction through TCR, allowing T helper cells and T cytotoxic cells to be distinguished based on their expression of these co-receptors. CD4, also known as T4 or Leu 3, is a membrane glycoprotein that enhances the interaction between TCR and class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules presented by antigen-presenting cells, thereby increasing the avidity of the immune response. TCR α/β (3H2918) antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying T cell biology and the mechanisms of immune activation.
