TCP-1 η Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that recognizes TCP-1 η in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TCP-1 η is a crucial subunit of the chaperonin containing TCP-1 (CCT) complex, which is essential for proper folding of cytosolic proteins, particularly actins and tubulins. TCP-1 η plays a significant role in maintaining cellular function by ensuring vital cytoskeletal components are correctly folded and assembled, which is critical for processes such as cell division, motility, and structural integrity. The CCT complex, composed of eight distinct subunits, including TCP-1 η, operates in a highly regulated manner to facilitate the folding of newly synthesized polypeptides, thereby preventing misfolding and aggregation that could lead to cellular dysfunction. TCP-1 η, along with its homologs, has been implicated in various cellular processes and is essential for the viability of eukaryotic cells, highlighting its importance in both normal physiology and disease states. With an ability to interact with multiple substrates, TCP-1 η serves as a key player in the cellular chaperone network, making anti-TCP-1 η antibody (C-6) an invaluable tool for researchers studying protein folding and related cellular mechanisms.
