SDF-1 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SDF-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SDF-1 (F-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SDF-1, also known as CXCL12, plays a crucial role in the immune response by acting as a potent chemoattractant for T cells and monocytes, facilitating their migration to sites of inflammation or injury. This function is vital for maintaining immune surveillance and tissue repair, as SDF-1 helps guide these immune cells to areas where they are needed most. Additionally, SDF-1 is involved in various physiological processes, including hematopoiesis and organogenesis, and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of several diseases, including cancer and HIV infection. The interaction of SDF-1 with its receptor, CXCR-4, is particularly significant, as this interaction not only mediates immune cell trafficking but also serves as a co-receptor for T-tropic HIV-1, highlighting SDF-1′s importance in both health and disease. Six human isoforms of SDF-1 exist due to alternative splicing of the CXCL12 gene, with three isoforms identified in mouse and rat, further underscoring the complexity and significance of SDF-1 in various biological contexts.
