The antibody was raised against amino acids 951-1089 of PDGFR- of human origin with accession number https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/protein/129892 The exact binding region of this antibody within the antigen has not been mapped. This antibody has not been tested experimentally for potential cross-reactivity under denaturing conditions in a Western Blot against different proteins. You might want to align the antigen sequence against the protein form of interest in order to determine potential reactivity. Thank you for your question. PDGFR-α Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 raised against amino acids 951-1089 of PDGFR-α of human origin. According to UniProt, this corresponds with a cytoplasmic region of the protein (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/protein/P16234). If you are using a formalin-based fixative (e.g., PFA) then we do recommend including a cell permeabilization treatment. After fixing the cells, wash in three changes of PBS. Then incubate for 3 minutes in a solution of .01% Triton X-100 in PBS. Followed by a wash in three changes of PBS. Our lab unfortunately has not yet tested reactivity with the chicken (avian) PDGFR-α. The homology between the chicken and human protein sequences is relatively high and it seems very likely the antibody will also pick-up the avian PDGFR-α. However, the exact binding epitope for this monoclonal antibody has never been mapped. Therefore, the antibody might or might not be suitable for the desired experiment with Samples from chicken origin.
