Msi1 Antibody (3F8-E6-B9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG antibody that detects Musashi1 (Msi1) in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB). Msi1 is an essential RNA-binding protein predominantly expressed in neural progenitor cells and neural stem cells, playing a critical role in the regulation of cell proliferation and maintenance within the central nervous system. The gene encoding human Msi1 produces a 362 amino acid protein that is crucial for the development and function of neural tissues. Notably, Msi1 localizes to the cytoplasm of murine embryonic neural progenitor cells and is downregulated during differentiation, highlighting Msi1′s importance in stem cell biology. Furthermore, Msi1 interacts with NUMB, a protein that serves as a membrane-associated antagonist of Notch signaling, thereby influencing cell fate decisions during neurogenesis. Beyond Msi1′s role in normal brain development, Msi1 serves as a marker for human gliomas, making anti-Msi1 antibody (3F8-E6-B9) a valuable tool for both research and clinical applications. In addition to Msi1′s expression in the central nervous system, Msi1 is found in Sertoli cells of the testis and granulosa cells of the ovary in rats, underscoring Msi1′s diverse biological significance across different tissues.
