Datasheets
  • LBP-1C Antibody (14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 205-414 of LBP-1C of human origin
  • Anti-LBP-1C Antibody (14) is recommended for detection of LBP-1C of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP and IF; also reactive with additional species, including canine
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for LBP-1C Antibody (14) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with LBP-1C Antibody (14) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

LBP-1C Antibody (14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LBP-1C protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-LBP-1C antibody (14) is available as a non-conjugated format. LBP-1C protein, also known as TFCP2 (transcription factor CP2), CP2, LSF, SEF, or TFCP2C, is a crucial 502 amino acid nuclear protein belonging to the grh/CP2 family, which plays a significant role in gene regulation. LBP-1C protein is expressed ubiquitously, with highest levels found in the spleen, brain, ovary, kidney, liver, thymus, heart, and lung. LBP-1C protein is essential for transcriptional activation as LBP-1C protein binds to promoters of several key genes, including those encoding fibrinogen, hemoglobin α, and viral HIV-1 protein. LBP-1C protein functions as part of the stage selector protein (SSP) complex, where LBP-1C protein forms dimers to bind DNA, facilitating interaction between enhancer elements and target promoters, thereby enhancing transcriptional activity. Defects in the gene encoding LBP-1C have been linked to various neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer′s Disease, depression, and Purkinje cell degeneration. LBP-1C protein is expressed in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to diverse regulatory functions in cellular processes.
