Headpin Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Headpin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Headpin antibody (E-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Headpin, also known as hurpin or serpinB13, functions as a skin-specific, UV-repressible serine proteinase inhibitor belonging to the ovalbumin serpin family, playing a crucial role in regulating proteolytic activity in the skin. This regulation is particularly important for maintaining skin homeostasis and protecting against UV-induced damage, which can lead to skin disorders. Headpin is predominantly expressed in the human keratinocyte cell line HaCaT and in lesional keratinocytes from psoriatic skin, highlighting its relevance in dermatological conditions. Notably, downregulation of Headpin has been observed in squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity and in squamous cell carcinoma cell lines of the head and neck, suggesting its potential role as a biomarker for skin cancer progression.
