SEE ALSO...

GAPDH Antibody (6F7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody raised against rabbit muscle glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), with species reactivity to human and rabbit. GAPDH is a key enzyme in glycolysis, catalyzing the reversible oxidative phosphorylation of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate in the presence of inorganic phosphate and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD⁺), a critical step for energy production in carbohydrate metabolism. Beyond its classical metabolic role, GAPDH exhibits diverse functions including acting as a uracil DNA glycosylase involved in DNA repair, participating in transcriptional activation, binding to RNA, and facilitating nuclear RNA export and DNA replication. GAPDH expression is notably upregulated in various cancers such as liver, lung, and prostate, making GAPDH a significant marker in oncological research. During apoptosis, GAPDH translocates to the nucleus, suggesting involvement in programmed cell death pathways. Additionally, GAPDH interacts with neuronal proteins linked to neurodegenerative disorders, including the β-amyloid precursor protein and huntingtin, highlighting GAPDH′s importance in neurobiology. Anti-GAPDH antibody (6F7) provides a reliable tool for detecting GAPDH in human and rabbit samples, and advances studies in cellular metabolism, disease mechanisms, and therapeutic development.

Is this antibody available directly conjugated to HRP or fluorescent dyes?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. All requests for directly conjugated versions of this antibody should be directed to our Special Orders team at specialorders@scbt.com Alternatively, consider using another excellent antibody for GAPDH, GAPDH (0411): sc-47724 as it is available conjugated to AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488 and Alexa Fluor® 647.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal western loading controlThis antibody serves as an ideal control for Western blots of human cell lines. We get a robust signal at the expected molecular weight using a dilution of 1:2000 in TBST + 3% BSA. This antibody is very clean as it detects only one band and gives no non-specific background.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Did not cross react with budding yeast lysateNo band against total yeast cell lysate (S. cerevisiae) prepared by TCA ppt. However, I was able to detect bands with other GAPDH antibodies (sc-137179, sc-166545,and sc-365062)
