SEE ALSO...

eIF4E Antibody (P-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF4E of mouse, rat, human, and porcine origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-eIF4E antibody (P-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. eIF4E plays a crucial role in the initiation of protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells, as eIF4E binds to the 5′ cap of mRNA, facilitating the recruitment of the ribosome to the mRNA transcript. This interaction is vital for the proper translation of mRNA into proteins, which are essential for numerous cellular functions and processes. eIF4E is part of the eIF4F complex, which also includes eIF4A and eIF4G; together, these proteins work to unwind mRNA secondary structures, allowing for efficient ribosome binding. Regulation of eIF4E activity is critical, as dysregulation can lead to various diseases, including cancer, making eIF4E an important target for therapeutic intervention and research.
